Golf
We have no first hand knowledge of this sport but understand there are two 18 hole and four 9 hole courses in the area which accept visiting golfers. You would probably need to book at least a day ahead.

Walking
Walking is our second favourite pastime (after motor cycling) and this is an especially beautiful area for rambles or more serious hikes.
There are many hundreds of km of well marked footpaths. Sentiers de Promenade et Randonée or PRs are either circular or offer a number of linear walks from one starting point. The Sentiers de Grand Randonée de Pays are also roughly circular and highlight regional attractions and points of interest.
Walks are well marked and the many guides available indicate levels of difficulty and approximate times (allow extra time obviously for your picnic stop and/or wine tasting).
Several long distance footpaths cross the region, including the famous route of Saint-Jacques, the pilgrim route to Santiago Compostela in north west Spain.
You have an enviable choice of type of scenery from the flat valley bottoms to gently sloping hills, passing through fields of maize, sunflowers, fruit trees and vines. Walking is an excellent way to work up an appetite for the food of the region (cross reference food and wine!).
Cycling
We have several cycles available for guests to use and only ask for a small deposit against loss and/or damage. It may also be possible to hire cycles locally. We will make enquiries for you if you wish. Keen cyclists may like to bring your own cycles, there is covered storage at Larroque.
Whatever your level of fitness/enthusiasm there are lots of possibilities from the leisurely to the highly energetic. Why not cycle into Saint Sardos or Prayssas for your breakfast croissants and baguette? Or take a picnic and explore the tracks alongside the Lot?
The local tourist offices sell maps showing the cycle tracks in each area and (we believe - our level of proficiency falls way short of what is demanded) there is a cycle route along the length of the River Lot through Lot et Garonne.
Horse Riding
There are several riding stables in the area (details from the local tourist offices) offering rides and pony treks.
In addition there are two routes marked out, the bridal way of Henri IV and the Prune Trail in the west and east of the region respectively.
Microlite
If walking, cycling, golf and horse riding are too tame you may like to try microlite flights from the centre at Saint Sardos, just a few km from Larroque. We won't be joining you!
Fishing
Our region is crossed by major rivers with a myriad of tributaries, plus there are numerous lakes, all of which offer opportunities for fishing. As in Britain, the sport is regulated and a visitor's licence is needed.
We have information on places to fish, where to buy your licence and what type of fish you can expect to catch. At the moment our information is in French but we intend to translate the important parts for our own use as well as guests.
The river Lot is well known for its fishing potential, particularly carp and black bass.
We took up fly fishing for trout and salmon on the River Tyne (sadly we were not very successful!) and intend to renew our interest in the sport on the rivers in the region.
Let us know when you are booking if you would like to fish whilst on holiday and we can discuss how we may be able to help.
