Each year the Lot et Garonne Départment encourages farmers to open their doors to visitors to explain their work and bring ordinary people and farmers closer together. We visited Domaine de Quissat, an organic farm run by Anne-Marie and Remy Delouvre at nearby Bazens. These pictures were taken in April!
On parking, visitors are greeted by a friendly well-fed donkey who insists on posing for tourist photos without any encouragement
We soon discover that organic farmers have a well-developed sense of humour
During a tour of his orchard and vineyard Remy explains about some of the wild flowers found around the farm. Remy was explaining in English because his English was better than our French. Shame on us.
